Road Trippin’

This past weekend I went down to New Jersey/New York with some other WFSU guys for a little weekend GTG. Then on Monday I made my way to Boston with Donders to see a few more people, and I made sure to bring my camera.

MKV John decided awhile back to organize a WFSU GTG at Dave and Busters in Nyack, NY. I’m glad he did. The weekend turned out awesome. We had 12 people come out for it. Maybe it’s the fact that’s it’s still winter up here and people needed something to do. After some debate, we decided to do a “group buy” with our 10,266 tickets and we ended up with a life sized Spiderman out of it, along with some shot glasses.

On Sunday a few of us stragglers headed into NYC for some photos. We walked around for about 3 hours before Matt V decided on a bar we could go to, to watch the USA/Canada gold medal game. We were a little worried because when we went in there was almost no one there. But as the game started people started filing in. That place went nuts when the USA scored with 24 seconds left. Unfortunately, you could hear a pin drop after Canada scored to win the game. After that we took the subway back to Hoboken and headed back to Donders to grab our stuff and start the trek back north. We noticed a full moon rising over the skyline of NYC so we went out on his patio and took some shots before leaving.

Yesterday Donders and I went up to Boston to meet up with Ryan, Mike and Zane. We got up there later than planned, so we hung out with them for a bit before Mike and Zane started their drive back to Rochester. After they left, Ryan walked around with us and showed us some of the city. We grabbed some dinner and then headed back home. It’s a much friendlier and cleaner city than NYC. I wish we got to spend more time up there. I will be going back to Boston sooner than later.

Here are some of my shots from the weekend:
