The Parking Lot…

Having been to several international auto shows in the country, I have to say that Philadelphia is one of the worst. Unfortunately for me, it is also one of the closest. As such, I can only report on the newest creations that are presented. While 95% of the show is a glorified showroom, there are a few companies that actually show some promising exotics.

The biggest hit in Philadelphia is most certainly the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing…

… but Chevy, Audi and Lexus also made a big bang with their show cars. Having skipped pretty much all of the American makes, I actually missed the Corvette Stingray concept, but I quickly moved through to Mercedes and Lexus.

Audi had a strong showing with the 2010 Audi S4, a new A8 (below) and also the R8 Cabrio (below in a stunning copper color). The A8 showed a rather menacing grill dripping in chrome, but a flagship car is meant to be big and bold.

In the DUB section, between the airbrushed bikes, aston martins and bentley’s on 22′s, was Nelly’s 2011 custom Mustang with custom 22″ and 24″ wheels and Pirelli tires.
